Good, Good Father

Scripture of the Day: John 1:12-14 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. Of late, one of my favorite songs is Chris Tomlin's, "Good, Good Father." The chorus (with way more repetition) goes, "You're a good, good, Father - it's who you are. And I'm loved by you - it's who I am." Yesterday I was hit with a metaphorical bus. A big bus. A shake you to your core bus. And when I start to think about the implications and the future I kind of go crazy. It is then that God calls me back to those two fundamental things. 1) He is a good Father and 2) I am loved by him. The rest matters...but not as much as those two things. What in my life is more important than my husband? What is more important than my son? What is more important than my role as a daughter/sister/friend? Being ...
