Wake up my Heart!

Instead of having multiple verses for you today...I chose none and would instead just encourage you to flip through your New Testament and see who wrote the various books...and who they were written for. Our church sermon a couple of Sunday's ago has stuck around in my head and heart. The topic was discipleship of sorts and the point was brought about that in your life you should always have three people: a Paul, a Silas, and a Timothy. These people will rotate over time. Let's clarify in case that doesn't make any sense. Considering how many books in the New Testament are attributed to Paul, we can consider him a teacher and a mentor to many. If you read the beginning verses of his books, you will see that some are written with Silas (peer) and some with Timothy (student and viewed by Paul as a son in Christ). Scripture of the Day Ezekiel 3:14-16 (from the Message) "The Spirit lifted me and took me away. I went bitterly and angrily. I didn't want to go. But God had me in his grip. I arrived among the exiles who lived near the Kebar River at Tel Aviv. I came to where they were living and sat there for seven days, appalled. At the end of the seven days, I received this Message from God:" Oh...thank you Ezekiel! I have not been writing for a while. Obviously! I haven't been able to find the words - mainly because my experiences this year have not been all that positive! I have read lots of things about the peace of God and His joy and lots of other things that simply did not resonate in my heart. Please note, I know all the Scripture about those things are true and our family in Christ has been AMAZING and been my strength when I had none and we are forever grateful for all the support we have been given. It was a rough afternoon of waiting and instead of worrying myself silly I said those words as a kind of mantra. More information will be coming on that later. But today my focus is on the fact that God loves me...and I love him and whatever crazy road this life is taking us down, we are in it together. Thank goodness!

Scripture of the Day: Matthew 24: 37-39a 37  Jesus replied:  “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38  This is the first and greatest commandment.   39  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ First off, I apologize for not writing this yesterday! By the time travels were done, I was exhausted!  Due to a recent, tragic death in town, there has since been a "pay it forward" movement in memory of the man, and to help further the Kingdom by showing Jesus to others. This is largely happening in the form of paying for meals at restaurants and drive-throughs. There has been some concern that instead of this form of movement, the focus should be on the needy.  Focusing on the those in need is always terrific! But Jesus loved on everybody...even those who had more than enough. Paying for the person behind you in the drive through, or paying for a meal for someone at a restauran...
