Scripture of the Day: Romans 10:8-13
But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart", that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!"
Well folks, I am not even sure what to write about the verses above. I can only tell you two completely unrelated bible studies had me read those verses today. And when something comes from more than one place, I feel like God is trying to tell me something. I don't know what that is, but I have an inkling someone may see the words from Paul and either be convicted of something, have a prayer answered, or perhaps learn something your heart is trying to tell you.
To quote Beth Moore, "It [the word of God] is our daily bread." It is our armor against the world. It is our peace. I am finding it brings me sanity in ways that nothing else possibly can. God can speak to you through Scripture in a clear voice when you open yourselves to listen. Reading the Bible can seem daunting but in this day and age you can be sent a short daily email that is entirely doable. Or better yet...open up the one you have sitting on the shelf. God will guide you - and you will find Him!
Challenge of the week: Spend time every day reading from the Word. If you do that already - increase your time. If you don't, please start!
