Scripture of the Day: Psalm 100:2
Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
Starting last fall, my husband began singing the song "I Love you Lord," to our kiddo before he went to bed, as a lullaby of sorts. The lyrics are simple:
I love you Lord, and I lift my voice to worship you, oh my soul rejoice!
Take joy, my King, in what you hear, may it be a sweet, sweet, sound in your ear.
It has since become
a very popular song in our house! We sing it before nap time, bed time, and I
hum it when sometimes when our little guy is upset or over tired. I love
singing it slow and asking him to sing with me – at this point he knows most of
the words and there is really nothing sweeter than hearing that little voice
sing “I yuv you yord,” (no “r’s” yet you
see)!
The song has also worked it's way into my personal worship of the Lord. The words are meant for Him to hear and I think he loves to hear them sung! I find that singing that joyful song, brings me comfort, and makes me feel closer to God. Every time I sing it, I find myself thinking about the words and how true they are! When I am singing to God, my soul rejoices.
Worship of the Lord can take many forms - attending church, singing, reading Scripture, fellowship with others, service for others, and lots of other things. It is important that whatever way(s) you worship, that you find some way to do it your personal life. He wants you to have a relationship with him, and that only works when you take time out to get to know Him better!
Have you ever heard of "Tiny tot praise". Its kind of old (I think you can only buy it on VHS...but one of the songs on the video is "I love you Lord" (Although I think its found on Tiny tot praise 2) It was my favourite song on the video. Its worth buying, I wonder if you can find it online? I want to buy a new copy of it since my sister wants a copy of it for her future children as well.
ReplyDeleteMy mom bought it for us when we were kids, we loved it! Once in a while I'll watch it just to enjoy the lyrics and it brings back good memories.
Anyways, God bless you. I also wanted to tell you your family picture is beautiful.
I recently recorded a piano cover of the song I Love You, Lord that I am going to post on YouTube. With all my piano covers I like to find a verse to go along with it and I found this as I was searching for a verse. I know there is a very very very small chance you will see this but thank you soooo much for providing the perfect verse for this video!
