Psalm 51:10-12

Scripture of the Day: Psalm 51:10-12

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

This may be a strange post because I don't know that I have much to say about those verses. They speak for themselves as a wonderful daily prayer and it contains so much. It is full with talk about our hearts, our spirit, our relationship with the Trinity - including our salvation, and our dependence on God. 

In the past weeks I have run across this Psalm so much that I know God is trying to get my attention with it. I  keep reading it, not with more understanding but with conviction that it makes an excellent prayer for us every day. And on that short note, that is how I will close...in prayer. 

Closing Prayer:

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. God, today is a new day. Renew me this day, as yours. Be part of my day today. Guide my path and show me the steps I should take. Help me look on you with joy, thankfulness and love and help me be always willing to do what is right. Heavenly Father, sustain me. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Scripture of the Day: Psalm 100:2  Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Starting last fall, my husband began singing the song "I Love you Lord," to our kiddo before he went to bed, as a lullaby of sorts. By now, you should know I like songs. I like Christian songs because their words don't put any "yuck" in my head and I don't have to worry about what little ears are taking in when they are on! I'm writing this more for prosperity's sake and because I need to try and wrap my head around a conversation I just had with my seven year old. Mandisa's song "Bleed the Same" was playing in the car...my kiddo asks me what she is actually saying because he hears "We all be the same." I explained how it meant that regardless of skin color, or lots of other things really, we all bleed the same. On the inside, we are all the same. And then the zinger.
